For Spring 2026, J.Crew invited a group of emerging designers to reinterpret its iconic rollneck sweater, blending the brand’s heritage with new creative voices.

The collaboration features three CFDA members: Tanner Fletcher founders Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell, and Collina Strada Hillary Taymour. They are joined by Buci designer Mishka Ivanovic, Eckhaus Latta’s Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, and Patrick Taylor.

Each brought their own aesthetic to the rollneck, showing how a familiar piece can feel entirely new through different creative lenses.

“What excited us most was the dialogue between our world and theirs,” Richie and Kasell explained via email. “J.Crew has such a strong heritage in American style, and being able to layer our romantic, decorative point of view onto something so iconic felt both exciting and natural. It was less about contrast and more about conversation.”

They took nods to Victorian-era school uniforms, adding sailor-inspired details and a signature lace tie. “The crochet lace detailing around the tie is our favorite part!” they added.

For Collina Strada’s Taymour, the challenge was in integrating the brand’s playful, unconventional aesthetic into a basic wardrobe staple. “Honestly, it was the chance to bring a little bit of Collina Strada magic into people’s everyday reality,” she said. “I loved the idea of seeing our signature color, texture, and whimsy reach beyond the runway and into real life, where it could be layered, mixed, and loved in entirely unexpected ways. The Rollneck was all about mixing comfort with a little Collina chaos.

“It’s that tension between cozy, classic, and slightly untamed that I’m always chasing,” she added.

The Rollneck Remix collaboration items sold out quickly, underscoring consumer excitement for a heritage brand staple reimagined from an emerging designer’s unique point of view.
