It was an eventful summer for Marrisa Wilson. Kicking it off by receiving a top award from Fashion Group International, the designer celebrated impressive career achievements while also getting some much-deserved downtime.

“In May, I was honored to receive the FGI Rising Star Award for Ready-to-Wear, presented to me by LaQuan Smith. I’m wearing the textured tweed suit from my Fall-Winter 2023 Collection.”

“I traveled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a friend’s wedding in May and had a few amazing days to relax at a beautiful beachside resort. Here, at the welcome dinner the night before the wedding, I’m wearing the Naya smocked sleeveless dress from my Spring-Summer 2023 Collection.”

“In June, I was invited to an intimate dinner hosted by Tia Mowry and WWD and got to hang out with one of my childhood idols, as I pretty much grew up on Sister, Sister. I wore my Spring-Summer 2023 Ali ruched midi dress to the event.”

“I attended an art gallery exhibition at the Barton Perreira store in the Meatpacking District in June with my fiancé and business partner Ben. I’m wearing the Tasha linen mini dress from my Spring-Summer 2023 Collection.”

“After receiving the Rising Star Award, the FGI invited me to be a panelist on their Exploring Fashion’s Future panel at Hearst Tower. I wore my Spring-Summer 2023 Simone smocked maxi dress and had a lot of fun sharing the stage with CFDA classmates Bach Mai and Teddy von Ranson.”
