A decade in fashion is naturally a major milestone. For Stuart Vevers, the last 10 years have indeed been transformative, not just personally – he married Ben Seidler and the couple became parents – but also for Coach, the brand he creatively leads since 2013. During this time, Vevers added his own personal brand of cool to the storied American house with origins in leather goods, which he successfully turned into a fashion and accessories powerhouse and a top name on CFDA’s Official New York Fashion Week Schedule.
It was time to celebrate the anniversary on Thursday night, and Vevers delivered a highly personal collection at the New York Public Library to an audience that included Jennifer Lopez, Lil Nas X, Lil Buck, and Dove Cameron.

The CFDA member captured the archetypes of New York fashion he remembered from his first time in New York in the 1990s, but rather than going for literal references, he captured the vibe of the era. In his show notes, he referenced the “girls at the Pyramid Club who were dancing ina slip dress…or cool young female execs who were done with power-dressing, stepping out of their town cars and reinventing the suit.”
The collection exuded attitude and an individualist point of view. Vevers has been one of New York’s pioneers in sustainability, and this collection adopted circularity in powerful way, incorporating repurposed leathers and denim, as well as deadstock lace, and fabrics from past collections.
“Today,” Vevers said, “we see craft and circularity as synonymous,” operating “with a belief that design can help pose solutions to the challenges we face.”
