Fifth Avenue passersby, take note! Saks Fifth Avenue just unveiled its terrific new windows celebrating New York Fashion Week and the great designers who bring creativity to American fashion.
Saks asked designers – ranging from contemporary to heritage collections – to create windows reflecting what NYFW means to them, and the results, on view through Aug.30, feature custom fashion and backdrops curated by each brand.
“NYFW produces some of the best talent in the industry,” explained Saks Senior Vice President and Fashion Director Roopal Patel. “American fashion is about community, and as an American retailer we find it extremely important to support such a dynamic roster of designers.”
In the center six Fifth Avenue windows, you will find artistic windows dedicated to Ralph Lauren, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein 205W39NYC, and Oscar de la Renta. Brandon Maxwell, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Gabriela Hearst, Jason Wu, Derek Lam, Jonathan Simkhai, Monse, Proenza Schouler and Rosie Assoulin make up the remainder on that stretch, while alice + olivia, Coach, Diane von Furstenberg, Eileen Fisher, Lafayette 148, Lela Rose, Milly, Naeem Khan, Rag & Bone, Tanya Taylor and Tibi are on show on 49th and 50th Streets.
“We look forward to paying homage to American designers that make New York Fashion Week electric and inspirational,” says Saks Chief Merchant, Tracy Margolies. “New York is a fashion capital of the world and we wanted to celebrate the designers and their creativity that brings the city to life.”
