Building on the longstanding partnership with the CFDA, W Hotels Worldwide has teamed up with CFDA Members Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia of Sachin & Babi to mark the opening of W Goa, the hotel group’s 50th global property and its first in India, with a celebratory capsule collection.
Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia, who both hail from India, were tasked by the CFDA and W Hotels Worldwide to create a colorful collection that includes tunics, dresses and accessories. The seven-piece collection contains many design features inspired by the shades of Goa, and the vibrant energy and rich multicultural history the seaside resort is known for. The husband-and-wife duo said it was a privilege to work on the project, citing their time growing up in India and visiting Goa as a key inspiration. In fact, to them, it’s a homecoming of sorts, as the project allowed them to revisit their childhood and teenage years there, which have informed their womenswear label.
In celebration of the fete, the duo will travel to Mumbai on Oct. 7 to co-host an event to launch the SACHIN & BABI x W Goa collection. It will be available at the W Goa, but those who can’t make it out to India need not worry. Selected pieces are also available on whotelsthestore.com in time for the opening of the W Goa on Nov. 1.
