Over the past two decades, Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia made a name for themselves with their designs and the rich textiles and exquisite embroidery they apply to their eveningwear. The Sachin & Babi ethos perfectly translates into bridal, and with many personal requests from brides-to-be over the years, it comes as little surprise that the designers are finally taking the leap. The designers presenting their first bridal lineup for their Noir label this New York Fashion Week: Bridal.
The husband-and-wife duo explained that since launching Noir over two years ago, the response has been overwhelming, which has helped the designers develop a strong understanding of what the Sachin & Babi girl is looking for—including bridal.
“The essence of the Sachin & Babi Noir girl is the same as the Sachin & Babi Bridal girl,” Sachin Ahluwalia said. “Noir was inspired by my peers who wanted clothing that fit their lifestyles but was still affordable. Our garments are well constructed with a beautiful aesthetic held to an achievable price point. The focus is on focusing on the girl and her needs, holding nothing back.”
The 12-piece collection, which will be unveiled during a presentation this Thursday, will include full-skirted gowns as well as slim and tailored silhouettes—all fit for a fairy tale moment.
“The aesthetic is feminine but still modern, confident, with an elevated sense of style,” Babi Ahluwalia said. “It is focused on giving the Sachin & Babi girl everything she wants for the most important day of her life.”
