For Robert Geller, collaboration is part of his brand’s DNA. “My favorite collaborations are the ones where I get to learn about someone else’s craft,” the designer mused. He recalled a Levi’s collaboration that allowed him to deep dive into the world of denim. The learning opportunity, one that he called “absolutely priceless,” led him to launch Robert Geller Denim a few years ago. “It really opened my eyes to what is possible.”
In addition to Levi’s, the designer and CFDA Member collaborated with G-Shock, Garrett Leight and Suicoke, just to name a few, but his seven-year collaboration with Common Projects remains one of his all-time favorites. “We met soon after we had launched our brands and clicked right away,” recalled Geller. “At the end of an after-party for one of my shows, we were the last ones left at the bar and we decided to work together. I feel like the brands align so well, and I really respect what they’ve created.”
Today, Geller is opening up the archives to this seven-year collaboration to the public with a a sample sale from today through March 8. Visit robertgellerstore.com to shop the sale and grab a pair of shoes that once upon a time ago walked the Robert Geller runway.
And as for future collaborations? Geller is happily dreaming up his next. “My ultimate goal is to design the jersey for the German National Soccer Team.” Sports fans, stay tuned!
