Premiere Vision, in collaboration with the CFDA, put sustainability and local manufacturing at center stage for the 39th edition of PV New York at Pier 94.
An expansion of the Made in USA local manufacturing showcase brought 13 factories from New York City and Los Angeles together to share top-tier services with the nearly 3,000 visitors. Participating factories included Acme Design, Button Down Factory, Dyenamix, Hertling, La La Land, Mudo Fashion, New York Embroidery Studio, Nimbly, Sepia New York, Software Studios, Stitch Luxe, Wing & Weft Gloves, and WIP Atelier NYC. Three of the 13 factories are past FMI Grant Fund recipients and all participating companies can be found on the CFDA’s Production Directory.
In addition to the Made in USA showcase, past CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and CFDA + Lexus Fashion* Initiative finalists Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo of TOME unveiled their PV Brand Ambassador capsule collection. The capsule was designed and manufactured in New York City using sustainable fabrics by PV exhibitor Lanificio Supalpino.
The PV Brand Ambassador program was created with the CFDA to promote local sustainable brands and domestic manufacturing.
As a part of PV’s Smart Talks panel discussion series on sustainability, the CFDA’s recent launch of the Sustainability Initiatives resource hub was outlined by our Director of Education and Professional Development Sara Kozlowski and Lauren Croke of KYUREEOSITY. Croke created the CFDA’s Sustainable Strategies Toolkit, a tent pole document within the newly unveiled resources.
Premiere Vision New York’s next iteration will occur in mid-July 2019.
