Planned Parenthood calls for #BansOffOurBodies

February 2, 2022

This year marks the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court case that established our constitutional right to legal abortion. However, it looks like the Supreme Court is ready to overturn or dismantle that landmark 1973 ruling this spring. If that happens, 26 states could quickly move to ban abortion.

Planned Parenthood is asking allies to spread its message, #BansOffOurBodies, to help protect access to sexual and reproductive health care. You can offer support by taking a photo while wearing our pin and sharing it on social media with the hashtag #BansOffOurBodies. You also can donate to the Planned Parenthood nonprofit, if you have the means.

We know that many CFDA members are passionate about equality, empowerment, and the right for everyone to make their own decisions about their bodies and their futures.

“We encourage members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America to show their support for sexual and reproductive health and rights at New York Fashion Week,” said Caren Spruch, senior director of arts & entertainment engagement, Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Planned Parenthood is grateful to those CFDA designers and artists who believe everyone should have the freedom and power to make their own decisions about their bodies, their lives, and their futures,” Spruch noted.

If you are a designer interested in distributing pins at your fashion week show, please email Caren Spruch at caren.spruch@ppfa.org.
