CFDA Connects member Philly Fashion Week returns with in-person shows and experiences in the City of Brotherly Love this week for its Fall 2021 season. It will take place from today, September 22, through Saturday, September 25, within downtown’s Fashion District Philadelphia, with finale runway shows at 2300 Arena.
Since its 2006 creation, Philly Fashion Week has continued its mission to highlight independent designers and mainstream brands, bringing fashion enthusiasts together bi-annually in one of America’s most cultured, artistic, and fashionable cities.
“Fashion is in our DNA and we look forward to another amazing season of fashion week in Philadelphia,” Philly Fashion Week’s Co-Founder Kevin Parker said. “Our goal is to provide a platform of discovery featuring local national and international brands! Join us as we embark on another fashion-filled season with the return of our in person shows.
Philly Fashion Week 2021 At a Glance
The week begins with the official opening event at Fashion District Philadelphia on September 22 at 5pm EST to highlight the grand opening of international fashion retailer Primark in its newest Philadelphia location.
On Thursday, September 23, at 7pm, Haute by PFW will take place at Philly’s haven for the creative community, Crane Arts Building. Haute by PFW will feature the Circular Design Competition which places a spotlight on sustainable fashion where cash prizes will be granted. The winning designer in the student category will take home $500 while the winning emerging designer will get $1,000.
Philly Fashion Week concludes with a Fashion Forward Finale on September 24 and 25 at 2300 Arena entitled Runway I and Runway II held 7pm nightly. These two evenings consist of a culmination of couture, high-end and ready-to-wear brands. Designers include Project Runway’s current castmates Prajje Oscar and Caycee Black. Former castmates showing this season are Kovid Kappor, Harx4 and Philly’s own Project Runway winner Dom Streeter.
Runway I and Runway II will feature activations and interactive experiences including VIP sponsored by Macy’s. Attendees are encouraged to support local retail & shop Center City Saturdays by Center City District. Philadelphia residents, workers and visitors will find curated in-store events at many locations, including one-day-only discounts and sidewalk sales.
