September 24, 2018

This just in! Gigi Hadid will be co-hosting the Americans in Paris cocktail with Stefano Rosso, Chief Executive Officer of Diesel North America, this Saturday, September 29.

Hadid is no stranger to the Paris Fashion Week party of the season. She has attended several times in the past – at Angelina with Karlie Kloss, at 1728 Restaurant with Zayn Malik, and at the CFDA and Vogue showcase at 29 Rue Du Faubourg Saint-Honoré with sister Bella Hadid in March (Bella was a host).

Saturday’s two hosts will celebrate this season’s lineup of nine past CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists who show their collections in the Paris showroom.

“Americans in Paris continues to showcase the strength of American fashion on the global platform of Paris Fashion Week,” said Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA. “This season, in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, we have expanded the group to include past alumni of the program in addition to the 2017 finalists.”

The lineup features Ahlem by Ahlem Manai-Platt, Area by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk, Chromat by Becca McCharen-Tran, Victor Glemaud, Ji Oh, RtA by Eli Azran, Sandy Liang, Telfar by Telfar Clemens, and Vaquera by Patric DiCaprio, Bryn Taubensee and Claire Sully.

The showroom is generously underwritten by Diesel, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. To mark the milestone, the nine Americans in Paris designers were given the brief to apply their viewpoints to a single, signature Diesel item—the denim jacket. Each was tasked to customize the piece while also interpreting Diesel’s logo.

The unique designs will be on display in the showroom.

“Diesel has always put creativity at the center of everything it does. In today’s world, brands need to become platforms for young designers and consumers to meet and express themselves. This is why we are happy to support and work with these young CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund designers who are interpreting our heritage in unique pieces,” Diesel’s Stefano Rosso said.

Tomorrow London Holdings Ltd is providing additional support through event production, targeted outreach for the designers and managing sales appointments, distribution and retail.

“Tomorrow believes that creativity should be championed and given a platform to reach a global audience,” said Stefano Martinetto, CEO and Founder of Tomorrow London Holdings. “In the constant pursuit to recognize and protect creativity, Tomorrow dedicates extensive time and resource to discovering and nurturing new talent from across the world, hence the partnership with the CFDA and Vogue comes naturally.”

Martinetto also will host a breakfast for the designers at the showroom on Monday, October 1.

And speaking of breakfast, pastries from nearby American bakery Stoney Clove Bakery will be available over the course of the three days for that special French touch. Bon Appétit!

The showroom is set for Saturday, September 29 – Monday, October 1, from 11am-6pm. Email americansinparis@kcdworldwide.co.uk to RSV

* Update: Gigi Hadid is no longer able to co-host the event. Emily Ratajkowski is stepping in to her fill her place.
