Peter Do’s newest project “Vietnam” is an invitation to step into his world of design and native country through a photography book of 96 pages shot by his close collaborator Philipp Paulus.
Traveling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City while tracing a line through Vinh Hy Bay, Nui Chua National Park, Cau Gay village, Da Lat, and Bien Hoa, the 2025 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist tapped local artists and muses to be captured in intimate moments.
Snapshots at local farmers markets, town folk on mopeds, late night commutes on public transit, the red street lights of nightlife and smoke breaks, these in-between moments capture the essence of Vietnam’s texture, touch, beauty, identity, and landscape.
“I was fortunate to meet Peter early in my journey as a photographer, at a time when I was still finding my voice. His way of seeing people—strong, androgynous, and unapologetically themselves—resonated deeply with me. It shaped not only how I photograph people, but how I understand beauty and identity,” Paulus said. “Our creative dialogue has always felt like two mirrors facing each other: sharp, clear, and endlessly reflective.”
The book was designed by Matthew Tsang and printed in Belgium, and the first edition of 400 copies will be published in September 2025.
