As part of an ongoing multi-faceted partnership, the CFDA and Première Vision (PV) named womenswear designer Nellie Partow the 2017 Brand Ambassador for Première Vision New York’s 34th edition, to be held at Pier 94 January 17-18, 2017.
Partow, a CFDA Member since 2015 and recent finalist of the 2016/17 International Woolmark Prize, is the third U.S. ambassador for the trade show, after David Hart and Max’n Chester.
The ambassador’s role is to help showcase Première Vision and CFDA’s dedication to promoting local creations and offering designers manufacturing solutions and carefully selected fabrics, designs, and accessories — all of which is key to Partow and her creative approach.
“As a young designer, it’s incredibly important to support the companies who, generation after generation, offer amazing products,” she said. “They are at Première Vision. That’s why this partnership is very important.”
Partow’s appointment is just one of several features of this alliance. Other initiatives include the support of emerging designers, curated tours of Première Vision New York for CFDA Members, and an overarching support of the CFDA’s Fashion Manufacturing Initiative (FMI).
“The CFDA is committed to strengthening young designers’ businesses through like-minded partnerships,” said Adam Roth, the CFDA Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. “Working with PV allows us to connect our innovative designers with expertly curated vendors.”
