After a 19-month hiatus, Nashville Fashion Week returns with a reimagined format to shape the future of Nashville fashion in a meaningful way – through strategic partnerships and collaborations with both local and global industry leaders. Now in its 11th year, Nashville Fashion Week runs from October 11-16, and benefits the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The Nashville Fashion Forward Fund gives an annual award to advance the careers of select local talent with demonstrated experience in a fashion-related field. The Nashville Fashion Forward Fund ensures that Nashville Fashion Week, having invested more than $1.3 million since 2011, will continue to impact the Nashville fashion community for years to come.
For this year, Nashville Fashion Week’s runway presentations are live under the theme IMAGINE. After devastating tornadoes and the COVID-19 pandemic prohibited the 2020 collections from being shown live, NFW pivoted to digital programming through the NFW Digital Experience for the 19 designers who were to show in April of that year. This week, 15 Middle Tennessee designers will showcase their collections virtually through CFDA’s RUNWAY360 digital platform. VIP Pass holders got first glimpse access today, and tomorrow, the runway presentations, collections, look books, and shopping opportunities will be open to the public at no charge. Nashville Fashion Week is a founding member of CFDA Connects, a programming network in support of regional fashion weeks in America.
In a press release, NFW stated, “As you know, COVID-19 surged again in the Spring of 2021, which is when we annually celebrate Nashville Fashion Week, but by early summer things were looking up. We felt the weight of the Nashville fashion community. Two years was way too long for our community to be apart, so we knew it was vital to IMAGINE safe ways to showcase and support our fashion community this fall.”
