N.Hoolywood Compile Fall 2021 Look 1

N.HOOLYWOOD COMPILE FALL 2021
The COMPILE line under N.HOOLYWOOD houses the brand’s formal and dress-wear offerings with a signature Japanese twist – a special focus on details, materials and comfort. In a period where our sartorial choices have been tied to quarantined lifestyles, designer Daisuke Obana blurs the line between ceremonial and casual, using light materials and adopting a “layerable function” into each garment made with specific liners that allow for customization.

The collection film and lookbook presented a somber but beautiful depiction of loss and romance. The star-crossed lovers are made anonymous—faces and likeness concealed by flesh-colored bodysuits—who mourn the sudden deaths, hold space for their now-gone loved ones and offer their flowers in respect until fate cruelly meets them with the same destiny.

N.Hoolywood Test Product Exchange Service Fall 2021 Look 1

N.HOOLYWOOD TEST PRODUCT EXCHANGE SERVICE FALL 2021
For Obana, his TEST PRODUCT EXCHANGE SERVICE line looked to tactical military wear as a source of design to be reinterpreted as streetwear. Inspired by the “Rainbow Gang,” a flight deck crew of the US Navy aircraft carrier, the collection lookbook takes us to an airplane runway, where models stood in for on-call military personnel ready for deployment.

The workers clad in flashy sets carried out important missions related to the arrival and departure of fighters. The extreme condition uniforms and their iconic graphics and description labels were incorporated into the designs, and their vivid colors were brought to life by N.HOOLYWOOD’s signature garment-dye process.
