In time for the release of our new book American Runway: 75 Years of Fashion and the Front Row, we asked CFDA Members to recall their favorite runway moments. Here, Phillip Lim:

“My favorite fashion show memory was our Spring 2016 Runway Show, which was also our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration.  For the show, we coupled with artist and environmentalist Maya Lin, to create an exceptional and thoughtful show experience using one earthly resource – soil. After the show wrapped, my team and I repurposed the soil back into New York City community gardens. I was very proud that we were able to use the platform of fashion to do something positive.”
