Regardless of one’s political affiliations, many CFDA members had reasons to smile this week. Throughout inauguration week, notables showed off looks from CFDA member designers – all of which we loved, natch.

On Wednesday evening, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden wore an ivory double-breasted cashmere coat and silk wool cady dress from Gabriela Hearst during the Celebrating America Primetime Special. Hearst was named Womenswear Designer of the Year at the 2020 CFDA Fashion Awards.

On Thursday morning, at the inaugural prayer, the First Lady looked chic in a magenta dress from Brandon Maxwell, while Vice President Kamala Harris stunned in a bordeaux ensemble from Prabal Gurung.

Both the Biden and Harris clans celebrated in CFDA style this week. First Daughter Ashley Biden rocked a chic Ralph Lauren tuxedo and Chloe Gosselin heels, while the President’s granddaughter Finnegan Biden wore Brandon Maxwell.

The Vice President’s niece Meena Harris attended the inauguration in a shearling coat by Coach and an Ulla Johnson dress, while stepdaughter Ella Emhoff worked a Batsheva prairie dress that she teamed with Loeffler Randall boots.

The piece de resistance, though, did not come from the political world. Cue couple Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who both wore Thom Browne beautifully.
