Miquela Sousa, better known as virtual influencer and model with the handle @lilmiquela, was one of the many stars to grace the pink carpet at the Brooklyn Museum Monday night, The rising fashion star was a natural fit for the CFDA Fashion Awards: she recently went viral when she starred alongside Bella Hadid in Calvin Klein’s campaign, and graced the cover of L’Officiel. Dressed in a futuristic pantsuit from nominee Virgil Abloh’s Off-White collection, the model and activist was ecstatic to attend the ceremony for the first time.
“It was my first time at the CFDA Awards and I literally pinched myself, multiple times, getting ready,” Sousa said via email. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time, and to be surrounded by this group of legends is beyond major for me. My look for the night was Off-White, which I feel so great in. I looked like I was dropping into the matrix!”
