M.Patmos Takes Home the International Woolmark Prize

Another score for Team USA! CFDA Member Marcia Patmos of M.Patmos has won the 2015 Women’s International Woolmark Prize in Beijing. Patmos represented the USA during this year’s competition. Last month, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School won the Inaugural Men’s International Woolmark Prize in London, and with M.Patmos’ win, Team USA has taken both International Woolmark Prizes for 2015.

This annual prize reaches across 21 countries and involves over 60 designers. M.Patmos competed for the prize along with four other selected design talents from around the world‑ V Major from China, STRATEAS.CARLUCCI from Australia, AUGUSTIN TABOUL from Germany and Bird on a Wire from Lebanon. The judging panel included Victoria Beckham, Vogue China’s Angelica Cheung, Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani, Ralph Lauren’s Malcolm Carfrae, Harvey Nichols’ Anita Barr, Saks Fifth Avenue’s Colleen Sherin, Joyce’s Cristina Ventura, Mytheresa.com’s Justin O’Shea, Isetan Mitsukoshi’s Shinji Nakakita, David Jone’s Sophie Clark and Colin McDowell.

In addition to global recognition, the winner receives a monetary prize of AU$100,000 (US$76,366) and the opportunity to be sold in the most important retailers around the globe including Saks Fifth Avenue, Harvey Nichols, 10 Corso Como, Joyce, Isetan Mitsukoshi, David Jones and Mytheresa.com.

The collection will be available globally at partner retailers from August 2015. Congratulations Marcia!
