LOVE Binetti Pops Up on the East Coast

April 12, 2023

Today, an increasing number of fashion designers embrace sustainable practices such as upcycling materials to create fabrics while also stepping away from manufacturing companies that underpay workers in harsh working conditions. Case in point, Diego Binetti, who has cut back on the typical volume of clothes for a more conscious approach using sustainable fabrics from Europe for his clientele.

Binetti continues to set himself apart with LOVE Binetti, the brand he founded in 2011, as he commissions artists such as Loló Bonfanti to create exclusive prints.

Since the global pandemic, he has curated pop up shops throughout the East Coast, which has allowed him to explore new communities.

In the last two years, LOVE Binetti pop up locations have included Sag Harbor, New York as well as The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. From May 1, LOVE Binetti will be available at the year-round boutique at Matriark house in Sag Harbor.

What is the driving force behind your motivation to elevate LOVE Binetti outside of New York City?

A couple of years ago, when the entire world took a break due to a worldwide pandemic and a lot of us in this industry were holding so much capital in our inventory, I personally rolled-up my sleeves and drove out to the East End to scout for a summer location. I landed in the beautiful town of Sag Harbor and the motivation started right there to think out of the box and to find other locations. I had become this entrepreneur that follows the seasons, follows the sun and follows my clients.

In an era of mass production, how have you been able to sustain from overly producing clothes? Does your focus in sustainability consist of producing a limited amount of clothes for fashion presentations as well?

I always believe in quality and not so much in mass production capitalism, focusing on creating a collection with styles that can last longer and not follow a trend. We are all here for a purpose and mine is related to clothes, creations and to treasure designs that can last for life. We at LOVE Binetti focus on natural fibers, organic cottons, upcycling and silks. Our purpose is to educate ourselves and others that our mother earth is the only one and now we need to take serious action to see how we can preserve it for future generations ahead of us.

In what ways does LOVE Binetti embody your very own idea of the American Dream? How have your original and greatest imaginations for the brand impacted communities in The Hamptons and Palm Beach?

I dreamed that I was a young kid raised in Florida, a recent immigrant from my home country Argentina. I feel like I’ve made it and  I am part of the American dream. It is so important to “Never Stop Dreaming” as the possibilities are limitless. The ability to think independently and creatively is within my core and that’s what keeps me alive. I translate this sensation into my clothes, the interior of my shops and with my clients. This translates to all places – Palm Beach, the Hamptons or any other place with a design that relates to your personal style and embodies you, the client. We like to touch your emotions with our designs.

Where did your inspiration for LOVE Binetti’s Spring-Summer 2023 collection derive from? How have you been able to mirror that inspiration and tell your story when curating LOVE Binetti’s pop-up shops?

The collection was a combination of art and fashion with creatures from the sea and land merging into one. In our design studio, we create our own unique prints and this season we commissioned an Argentinean artist Loló  Bonfanti with a strong collaborative and surreal message. The colors are strong and the images are just impossible to resist. They are beautiful and intriguing.  Our stores are similarly magical and always different from others – sophisticated but always playful.
