The CFDA is proud to announce additional grants from the Love Ball III revival with Susanne Bartsch and MAC Cosmetics for World Pride 2019. A total of $160,000 will be distributed to three organizations identified in conjunction with the New York Community Trust, which were selected for their work with queer people of color that are living with HIV/AIDS, including the Ballroom Community.

New Pride Agenda
PrEP is a highly effective tool to mitigate HIV transmission. Its widespread use is essential to New York State’s plan to end the AIDS epidemic. But transgender women of color, who are at incredibly high risk for HIV infection, need better access to it. New Pride Agenda is reaching this community and the grant will help get more transgender women on to PrEP.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center
According to The Center, LGBT youth who are part of the Ballroom Community are at high risk of contracting HIV or other sexually transmitted infections. The Center’s two youth-focused education and outreach programs—SNAP and YASS—are a critical resource to offer core services to these communities.
Bridging Access to Care
Trauma is, unsurprisingly, endemic to many people with HIV/AIDS, especially people of color. Bridging Access to Care, a leading HIV/AIDS provider in Brooklyn, will expand use of trauma screening software to all of its clients, the first step to getting them the support they need.
