Living Through the Challenge: Michael Saiger, Miansai

Michael Saiger has come a long way since he launched his business, Miansai, from his college dorm room. The founder of the Miami-based jewelry company is now distributed in over 40 U.S. states and 36 countries worldwide. He also operates flagship stores in New York and California. The designer has been on a whirlwind path of success with his line of accessible, contemporary men’s jewelry. However, the recent turn of events have given Saiger a new perspective on business.

“At this point, we can all see that the fashion industry is going to be much different than we’ve ever known it to be,” he said. “Retail was already experiencing major changes, and this just catapulted it into a watershed moment. Our day-to-day operations have slowed, as we all work from home. Right now, all of our stores across the U.S. are closed, but fortunately we’re able to maintain our online business.”

With the new lockdown reality, Saiger is finally finding the time to slow down. He and his wife Rachael, who serves as the brand’s Fashion Director, are using this time to continue their philanthropic endeavors and join the battle against coronavirus. See how Saiger is living through the challenge below.

“I remain optimistic that this time of tremendous uncertainty will pass quickly, and things can begin moving along again,” he said, “Until then, I am spending my days procuring PPE supplies for local charities, shelters and governments, designing our latest collection from home and spending time with my wife, Rachael and daughter, Sunny.”
