Lisa Rinna Sells on Edie Parker Shopping Network

It’s a new reality many of us have had to face. Forced to spend the last six months inside, home shopping networks have become another outlet to engage with and buy some essentials (and many more non-essential items).

Edie Parker’s Brett Heyman perfectly captured this with a hilarious New York Fashion Week film to unveil her new Spring-Summer 2021 accessories collection. She tapped Lisa Rinna – yes, the actress and reality tv star – to serve as a host on the Edie Parker Shopping Network, and she delivers one memorable line after another, from “Here is hoping that there is a 2021 spring, right?” to “It screams I am happy, I am free, and I am fabulous.” My favorite is when she likens the color of a bag as “lemon gelato in Capri.

We checked in with Brett, a CFDA member, to talk about this joyful, borderline kitsch treat that we all needed at this time.

Hi Brett! How did this project come about?

Like everybody else, we had to rethink how we would show people our products this season while we are largely still working from home. We wanted to honor the original direct-to-consumer experience, and the early joy of shopping from your couch.

How do you know Lisa RInna and what do you love about her?

I met Lisa at a dinner party last year and I think she is one of the funniest women on TV. She is always in on the joke, is a natural salesperson, and is so professional and easy to work with.

Tell us about the collection. What inspired it?

Mary Tyler Moore meets Memphis Milano. The collection includes handbags, home accessories and jewelry, all in our signature hand-poured acrylic material. As always, everything we make is handmade in Italy and the USA.

What’s your favorite piece in the collection?

It’s always hard to pick a favorite, but I think I am most excited about the Mother’s Quilt tray. Every inlay and pattern in our collection is drawn by hand. We create unique sheets of acrylic using the finest materials in small batches. This tray combines over ten of these sheets which are all cut by hand and inlaid like a puzzle. It is a work of art. Because often our inlays are irreverent or, in the case of this collection, kitschy, it can be easy to miss how truly special our products are. We hope experiencing them through a video rather than just a still photo will help.
