Kenneth Cole and Rachelle Hruska MacPherson have a thing in common: both are wordsmiths who master memorable and meaningful words.
The CFDA member and the founder of Lingua Franca just unveiled a collaboration in support of the Mental Health Coalition – mental health being an important cause that both champion.
Together, Cole, who founded the Mental Health Coalition in 2020, and Hruska MacPherson created a limited-edition capsule of cashmere sweaters that read “i have issues” and “almost normal” in the signature style of Lingua Franca.
The latter brand’s origins date back to 2016 when Hruska MacPherson experienced postpartum anxiety after birth, and when her therapist suggested doing something with her hands, she picked up a needle and thread and began embroidering.
The crewneck designs are made with 100 percent sustainably-sourced cashmere. The wording aim to help delegitimize mental health and foster a supportive community.
Ten percent of proceeds from each sale will go to the Mental Health Coalition, and friends of the brand will be able to join the two designers at the LF Townhouse for a conversation with Head of Research at the Mental Health Coalition Dr. Naomi Torres-Mackie.
The collection is available for purchase at kennethcole.com and linguafranca.nyc as well as at Lingua Franca at 95 Jane Street in Manhattan.
