Joshua Mills on Recruitment

February 24, 2020

Teddy Tinson

“Equity in fashion means having access to the same opportunities as our peers. It means knowing our voices and opinions will be heard and received without bias or prejudice and that we will be acknowledged and rewarded for our contributions, the same as everyone else.

Gatekeepers need to understand and accept that they may have biases.  In recruiting, they should be willing to explore avenues other than the traditional ways or networks.  They should be willing to step out of their comfort zones and take calculated risks on individuals based on the ability, talent and aptitude of that candidate.”
