When Thom Browne officially became Chairman of the CFDA on January 1st, 2023, one of the first initiatives he conceived was to create and curate a small group of fashion devotees in support of American designers.

Enter the Friends of the CFDA, an invite-only charter consisting of an intimate group of like-minded individuals who are passionate about philanthropy and fashion.

“as chairman of the cfda…my emphasis is on the importance of creativity in building successful businesses…american fashion can be magical and inspiring…,” Browne said. “with friends of the cfda, we hope to bring exclusive access to the talent and creativity of our designers…. and benefit important cfda initiatives and programs.”

Friends of the CFDA will provide this highly exclusive group with unprecedented access to the American fashion industry, including exclusive benefits such as invitations to special events, private gatherings with industry leaders, and recognition for their commitment to the CFDA’s mission.

Theater producer, couture collector and red-carpet favorite Jordan Roth serves as the Chairman of Friends of the CFDA. The annual membership fee benefits CFDA’s philanthropic initiatives including Emerging Designer Support, Sustainable Fashion Initiatives, Diversity and Inclusion programs, and Industry Education and Advocacy, among others.
