A.L.C., the advanced contemporary label by CFDA Member Andrea Lieberman, partnered with InterLuxe to fuel future growth.

While the size of InterLuxe’s investment into the brand was not disclosed, the deal marks the second of its kind for the portfolio division of Lee Equity Partners. The first, in 2014, was with CFDA Member Jason Wu.

Founded by industry veteran Gary Wassner and Cliff Moskowitz, InterLuxe aims to help high potential fashion and luxury brands realize their vision. The new partnership marks a major moment in Lieberman’s impressive career trajectory.

“The InterLuxe and Lee Equity teams have a unique combined strength,” she said. “Their industry knowledge, experience, and relationships make them the right strategic partner. Most importantly, they share a common vision for the future success of A.L.C. and are fully committed to the exciting journey that lies ahead.”

Born and raised in New York City, Lieberman studied fashion at Parsons School of Design and worked with Giorgio D’Saint Angelo and Romeo Gigli before opening retail store Culture and Reality. The latter led to a remarkable career in styling for videos, photo shoots and award shows with a client list that, over the years, included Gwen Stefani, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz. She also consulted on clothing lines such as L.A.M.B., JLo and Sean John before launching A.L.C. in 2009.

Lieberman, a  finalist for the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, has built a following with clients looking for languid silhouettes, cool separates and engineered basics. The collection is sold at stores such as Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Intermix.

Melissa Beste, CEO of InterLuxe, said that A.L.C. has “great” momentum.  “A.L.C. makes a beautifully designed collection that appeals to the modern, sophisticated woman,” she said. “[Andrea Lieberman] is an extraordinary talent and an emerging leader in American womenswear.”
