The fashion quotient was at an all-time high at Monday night’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner at the Crane Club. Isha Ambani, a host of the evening, was the definition of chic in Wiederhoeft, joining the evening’s co-hosts Zac Posen, Chloe Malle and Anna Wintour to fete this year’s Fashion Fund winner, Ashlyn’s Ashlynn Park, and runners-up Stephanie and Aubero’s Julian Louie and Heirlome’s Stephanie Suberville.
Also in the room were Georgina Chapman, looking resplendent with Adrien Brody on her arm, James Corden, Vera Wang, Wes Gordon, Allison Sarofim, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Ashley Graham, Alex Consani, Aaron Rose Philip, Ivy Getty, Dascha Polanco, Laurence Milstein, Macrene Alexiades, and more.
Many past Fashion Funders turned out for the occasion, including Conley Averett, Emily Adams Bode Aujla, Jonathan Cohen, Prabal Gurung, Christopher John Rogers, Kim Shui, Kozaburo, Batsheva Hay, Kozaburo, and Hillary Taymour.
Delivering keynote remarks, Posen, who joined the Fashion Fund’s Selection Committee this year, delivered much wisdom as he looked back on his own career trajectory which took him from magical and masterful designs under his own name to a top executive role at Gap Inc.
“I have had a wild journey,” he said. “I started with a dream and went to the industry and did my first show. From there, it was ups and downs, challenges, and incredible moments of success, When I look back, the things that I take away are to enjoy the processes. It’s about the creative process, the incredible process of building the business and all the partnership that goes along with it. It’s not going to be a clear path. Every journey has wild turns and surprises. You have to be able to be nimble.
“Be prepared for a long road,” he added. “Creativity is a lifelong pursuit. As artists and creators, we have that ability to create for a long time. Be patient. And enjoy it.”
