CFDA and SwatchOn, an online wholesale fabric marketplace based in South Korea, have partnered to provide an in-kind fabric sourcing opportunity for emerging label Collina Strada by designer Hillary Taymour a current CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalist.
SwatchOn provides more than 100,000 high quality fabric products online with videos and images of every single fabric product. Its re-orderable wholesale fabric has no minimum order quantity, providing an economical and reliable source for fashion brands. SwatchOn also provides a popular service called “Swatch Box” where fashion brands can order fabric samples first before ordering full yardages.
“SwatchOn is a fast growing company of young global enthusiasts passionate about fashion and IT, striving to innovate the global fabric industry. The traditional fabric industry is often very analogue and inefficient which results in fashion brands wasting too much time in sourcing fabrics leaving less time to concentrate on their creativity and designs. We are proud to be able to introduce high quality local fabrics from 1,000 Korean suppliers and global fashion designers, creating a whole new opportunity and experience for both parties,” said Yonmi Jung, CEO of SwatchOn.
Through the partnership, Taymour was able to source and explore new fabrics through SwatchOn’s online platform. Based on the Collina Strada brand ethos, she used the SwatchOn service to select sustainable materials including eco-soft TENCEL fibers, dead stock, and also utilized their customized digital print service to print her own design on knit and woven fabrics. The designer incorporated the aforementioned fabrics for three of her pieces with final constructions produced in NYC’s garment district.

Collina Strada stays true to craft and on course to becoming a fully sustainable and radically transparent brand. Taymour’s collections are manufactured in New York and her brand offers easy-to-wear clothes, imbued with a fearless fluid attitude, re-inventing classics and unexpected details.
Collina Strada unveiled the SwatchOn pieces in her New York Fashion Week Runway Show in September 2019.
“Collaborating with SwatchOn allowed me to customize fun prints in a sustainable way. Working with their deadstock program was a great way to incorporate the brand ethos and still be able to create a story,” said Taymour.
