With the death toll at 31, homes destroyed and tens of thousands of families evacuated, the fires raging in Northern and Southern California are the worst the state has ever experienced. Here are some ways you can help those affected by fires:

* Support the Los Angeles Fire Department in their efforts to control and end the wildfires. Click here to donate.

* The Humane Society of Ventura County is giving shelter to animals in danger. Click here to make a contribution. You can also help animals through the Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation.

* Airbnb has an open home program, allowing you to provide your home or a room in your home for evacuees and rescue workers. Click here for more.

* The Salvation Army Ventura Corps is accepting food donations.
