How to Do Thanksgiving CFDA-Style

November 23, 2017

Mini Banks

It is that special moment in the year when families and friends come together to give thanks for all their blessings. Whether you’re traveling for the holidays or staying put in chilly NYC, now is the time to start cooking! Before the madness begins, we asked a few CFDA members where they will be this Thanksgiving and what are they are looking forward to the most.

Peter Speliopoulos

I will be at my country house in the Hudson Valley, preparing a very traditional Thanksgiving– the Bird, all the trimmings and pies. The house dates to 1725, so it feels very American, and I am giving thanks to the bold American spirit and freedoms in our Country. And looking forward to Christmas!

Lizzie Fortunato

I’m going to be home in Delaware cooking a big dinner with my new husband, sister, friends and my mom, who is in the process of moving into a house she’s been renovating. I love playing with interiors and can’t wait to help her with decorating the new place!

Chris Benz

I’ll be cooking at home in Brooklyn for Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to hosting and hanging around the house watching old movies.”

Jodie Snyder

We’ll be at my house in Warren in Connecticut. I’m most excited to spend the day cooking with my family and decorating the house for the holidays.

Behnaz Sarafpour

I am at my house in Pound Ridge getting ready to host a big family dinner on Thursday evening. Cooking is my second favorite thing after designing, and I’m looking forward to being the one in charge of Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Rachel Dooley

I will be at home hosting friends and family for Thanksgiving, and I am looking forward to mulled wine, a fire and downtime with my family.

Alan Eckstein

I will be in Great Neck, Long Island with my mom, my childhood housekeeper, her whole family from Trinidad, and my girlfriend and her family. I also can’t forget my dachshund Coconut. She will be there and is probably the most excited as she loveeeeees turkey. I’m looking forward to quality family time without the rush and craziness of the working week. Just to settle down, eat, have conversations, and just give thanks! We have so much to be grateful for and I love that at least on Thanksgiving, you can consider all that you have in life. It’s nice.

Jasmin Shokrian

This Thanksgiving, I am in Los Angeles to celebrate the harvest with family and friends. It’s going to be 90 degrees.

Beginning my day giving back, I am spending the morning volunteering at a shelter and will spend the afternoon with a small group of friends at home before going to my aunt and uncles, where I will see 150 of my closest family members for an epic annual thanksgiving celebration.  I am  most looking forward to spending time with people I love, catching up and the part where we talk about what we are most grateful for.
