Rebecca Minkoff has become a household name in fashion and isn’t slowing down anytime soon. But her number one priority is her family, whom she credits with the reason she works so hard on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, saying that, “Health is so important to me because it makes me stronger and a great role model for my family, the most important thing in my life.” As part of CFDA’s new Healthy Living series, Minkoff filled us in on how she stays on top of her fitness game.
What gets you moving?
My trainer Kelvin at Body Space Fitness has been my godsend and go-to for the longest time. He always kicks me into shape and even that is an understatement.
Best stretch tip:
It is so important to make time to stretch for 10 minutes every day. There are so many exercises you can do at your desk too!
What’s in your workout wardrobe?
Leggings and tank tops are my go-to work out outfits. I love going to Bandier to refresh my workout wardrobe.
#1 sleep tip:
After reading Arianna Huffington’s book “The Sleep Revolution”, I try to get at least eight hours of sleep a night. My kids get around nine. A good night’s sleep helps my productivity, health and overall happiness throughout the day.
Travel kit staple:
Lots and lots of water! I need to stay hydrated when traveling
What’s your “ohm moment?”
For me, yoga is the best thing to clear the mind and body. I feel like a new person after a yoga class.
Daily dose of goodness:
It’s so important to step away from your phone and emails for a bit to decompress and to be involved in the moment. I love to cook and being around my kids, so if I’m in the kitchen cooking a meal for them after work, I am one happy camper.
