September 30, 2020

Harlem’s Fashion Row has announced the 27 recipients of the $1 million grant it received from Vogue and the CFDA’s A Common Thread initiative.

The money will be split into four tiers, and the winners include Fe Noel, Kimberly Goldson, Kenneth Nicholson, Jameel Mohammed of KHIRY, Sergio Hudson, Abrima Erwiah of Studio 189, and CFDA member Kip Chapelle of Rubin & Chapelle. Other designers include Kristian Lopez of Kristian Loren, Carlton Jones, and Ashley Cimone and Moya Annece of Ashya.

The recipients were chosen by members of the Icon 360 x A Common Thread board, made up of industry leaders including CFDA president CaSandra Diggs, Vogue.com editor Chioma Nnadi, Cosmo Beauty Director Julee Wilson, and Co-Founder of Liberty Fairs Sharifa Murdock.

“For 13 years, Harlem’s Fashion Row has worked to provide opportunities for BIPOC fashion designers, however we needed a way to provide capital. ICON360 was a dream for me. I wanted to create funding options for BIPOC designers who were underrepresented in fashion,” said founder of Harlem’s Fashion Row Brandice Daniel. “Thanks to your generous donations, ICON360 will be a solution for designers seeking capital to grow and scale their businesses which will change the course of history.”
