For the return of the in-person CFDA Fashion Awards this year, Julia Fox knew she had to make a statement. The actress and new mom was thrilled for a night out – and to make her Awards debut, she worked with stylist Matthew Mazur to create a stunning look.

Fox and Mazur had a unique experience in preparation for the event. Attending as a guest of Nordstrom, instead of showroom pulls, the actress and stylist enjoyed a luxury shopping experience with the retailer to select her look. The duo landed on a look from nominee Dries van Noten.

“For Julia’s look when looking around the store, I always think of an element of surprise, not just with her but all my clients. I chose things that we have seen Julia in, for example the ‘Femme Fatale/Bombshell’ look, but also chose things we haven’t necessarily seen from her on a carpet. The Dries Van Noten was something in terms of color, and style we haven’t seen Julia in and I didn’t know how she would react, but that and another look I chose by chance by The Row were her favorites which led to me being pleasantly surprised and to continue following my intuition with her,” said Mazur.

The stunning embellished look was complete with jewelry from Jacob and Co, Tiffanys, and Mateo, a bag from Rosantica, and Jimmy Choo shoes.

“Working with Julia has always been something that has been a passion of mine. I knew about Julia since high school as we both grew up in New York City, We then later became friends,” Mazur added.

“To me, Julia has always exemplified New York, in all its glamour, chaos, beauty, and grit. She’s always stayed true to who she authentically is and that is what makes me as a creative, totally and utterly inspired. New York has my heart and anyone that is a product of it always has a soft spot in my heart. You don’t meet many people like that and Julia is a true example of what it means to be one-in-a-million.”
