Get the Scoop on Tmall China Day at NYFW: Men’s

This New York Fashion Week: Men’s will see the arrival of some of China’s most exciting fashion talent. The CFDA, with Suntchi (Shanghai) Brand & Technology Co., Ltd and in association with Alibaba Group’s Tmall, will unveil Tmall China Day this season.

The participating designers are Li-Ning, Peacebird, ChenPeng, and Clot.

“China Day allows us to further expand the scope of NYFW: Men’s by showcasing the most exciting Chinese fashion talent to the American fashion community,” said Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA. “The initiative is part of CFDA’s overall strategy to build international ties, which will in turn help us strengthen the impact of American fashion globally.”

Tmall China Day will feature a number of events throughout NYFW: Men’s including runway shows and presentation at Skylight Modern on February 7, and an exclusive space at Skylight Modern showcasing the group presentation and the China Day concept from February 5-7.

An exclusive showroom will be set up especially for buyers and media during this time.

Additional support was provided by an Advisory Board featuring Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA; Jessica Liu, President of Tmall Fashion & Luxury; Lv Xiaolei (‘Madame Lu’), Vice Secretary-General of Shanghai Fashion Week, and Paul Fang, CEO of Suntchi. The effort was also supported by Justin Berkowitz, Fashion Director of Men’s for Bloomingdale’s, and T Magazine China, a strategic media partner, and its Editor in Chief Mr. Dan Cui.

Our goal is to foster up-and-coming Chinese designers and help them get more international exposure, as well as showcase established Chinese brands and help them expand their global growth channels,” said Jessica Liu, President of Tmall Fashion. “As the leading B2C e-commerce platform in China with over 500 million active users, Alibaba empowers brands with the consumer insights and technology needed to grow their businesses globally. We look forward to working closely with CFDA and Suntchi to make Tmall China Day a success this February.”

Those who can’t make it to the shows need not fret—they will be broadcast to shoppers the following day with many pieces available to purchase on Tmall. Get your hands on the looks and wear them during NYFW!
