On Sunday, the Fédération Française de la Couture,du Prêt à Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode (FF) hosted a meeting with the British Fashion Council (BFC), the Camera della Moda Italiana (CNMI), and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) at Hyeres Festival de la Mode et Photo. The meeting was relaxed and informal, but nonetheless was a landmark event in that it was the first time in modern history that all four leading fashion councils had met in person (for many years they have been in contact and met as individual councils on an ad hoc basis). The four councils shared information and discussed subjects including digital, sustainability, education and fashion weeks. They also used the opportunity to discuss setting the fashion calendar dates to 2020. The meeting was extremely positive and it was agreed that the four councils should build on this friendship and be more proactive in sharing knowledge and opportunities to collaborate in the future.
Present at the meeting were Ralph Toledano, Pascal Morand, Steven Kolb, Carlo Capasa and Caroline Rush.
