Shoes of all styles stepped into the spotlight at last night’s 32nd FN Achievement Awards, held at IAC Headquarters in New York City. The event honored outstanding achievements in the footwear category last night – and CFDA members had a strong presence.
Rebecca Minkoff received the Social Impact Award for her dedication towards activism and her recent partnership with the Women’s March to celebrate and empower females.
Tabitha Simmons took home Designer of the Year for her exquisite designs that have attracted A-list celebrities including Megan Markle, and long list of collaborations that includes TOMS and Johanna Ortiz. “It’s certainly about family tonight,” said Anna Wintour, who presented Simmons with her award. “I was asked if I could be photographed with my daughter Tabitha tonight.
“She brings wit, and fantasy, and escapism to the reality of having to put a pair of shoes on every day,” Wintour added.
CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Kerby Jean-Raymond took home the Collaborator of the Year award as a result of his Reebok x Pyer Moss collaboration that made waves in the footwear category.
New CFDA member Mike Amiri of Amiri and former CVFF finalist Chloe Gosselin were each honored with the Vivian Infantino Emerging Talent Award. CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg presented Gosselin with the award.
Other notables at included Style Influencers of the Year Christie Brinkley, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, and Alexa Ray Joel, Nina Agdal, Victor Cruz, and Martha Stewart.
