Fashion Touchdown: The CFDA, NFL, and Bloomingdale’s

In celebration of Super Bowl XLVIII and in support of the National Football League Foundation (NFL Foundation), the CFDA and Bloomingdale’s have teamed up on a unique collaboration of customized football helmets, created by a slew of CFDA members.

All 48 helmets will be auctioned. Fans may visit Bloomingdales.com/superbowlhelmets to access the NFL Auction and bid on the designer Super Bowl XLVIII helmets from January 15 – February 4, with 100% of the net proceeds benefiting the NFL Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those touched by the game of football. Through its grant programs the Foundation supports youth and high school football programs, health and safety efforts, as well as community health initiatives, including NFL PLAY 60. The minimum bid for each helmet will be $248, celebrating the 48th Super Bowl which is taking place across two states.

“This is the first time that the Super Bowl will be held in the New York region and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate by joining Bloomingdale’s and the NFL in merging fashion and sports with the creation of these unique helmets,” says Steven Kolb, CFDA CEO.

”We are excited to team up with Bloomingdale’s and the CDFA to auction off designer Super Bowl XLVIII helmets to support the work of the NFL Foundation,” said Natara Holloway, the NFL’s vice president of consumer products. “This unique collaboration is another way for fans of football and fashion to get closer to the game and be a part of the Super Bowl XLVIII festivities happening all across the New York-New Jersey region.”

“Bloomingdales’ New York Heritage combined with the fact that Super Bowl XLVIII is taking place in our back yard gives us an opportunity to merge fashion and sports in a modern way,” said Frank Berman, Bloomingdale’s executive vice president of marketing. “Through our unique collaborations, merchandise, and special events, we are able to celebrate Super Bowl XLVIII in-store and online bringing the excitement of this iconic event to our shoppers across a variety of touch points, all while supporting the NFL Foundation.”

The helmets will be unveiled in the iconic Bloomingdale’s 59th Street windows on January 15 at 5:00pm.
