Fashion for ACLU Spotlight: Public School

September 9, 2017

Marc Karimzadeh

Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne want to secure the rights of everyone under the U.S. Constitution, and so they voiced their support for Fashion for ACLU without any hesitation. Here, the designers jointly discuss why our Fashion for ACLU campaign is important to them.

Why is it so important to you to participate in Fashion for ACLU?

The ACLU is the preeminent voice for all those who need assistance. We think it’s important for us to use our platform during NYFW to express our support.

What personal message do you hope to convey by taking part in the initiative?

It’s both a personal message and a brand message that we stand up and advocate for civil rights, LGBTQ rights and the rights of any marginalized groups. We want to make sure that everyone is protected under the Constitution of the United States.

How do you plan to use/wear the ribbon?

We’re going to pass them out at our upcoming runway show. The blue ribbon is so symbolic, our goal is to make it as visible to anyone that’s coming to the show or sees coverage of the show.
