The CFDA’s sustainability resources are expanding. Visit their new home, a centralized destination built for a future growth of its library of downloadable evergreen, reports, tools, and topic curated content.

First launched in 2019, the Sustainability Resource Hub is an open access knowledge-sharing platform designed for exploring fashion learning strategies-centered tools and storied information.

The redesigned section includes the updated CFDA Sustainability A-Z Directory – an information toolbox designed for everyone.

This second edition open knowledge sharing resource is a streamlined choice navigation guide featuring 400+ new & updated fashion eco-system listings categorized by Organizations + Alliances, Initiatives + Agendas, Learning + Development.

An additional Topics section annex contains 50+ resources calibrated to of the moment key areas such as Circular Systems + Processes, Climate + Decarbonization, Policy, EJ/ESG, Tools for Impact + Assessment, as well as Strategists + Consultants, Creative + Production, Verification + Auditors, and more.

The Directory also has a browsable Library curated with timing critical ESG, Climate 2030/2050, Policy/Governance, sustainable strategies, and innovation roadmap reports alongside evergreen recommended reading and a Lexicon area that will be further developed into a glossary of terms, acronyms, and nomenclatures.

All stakeholder entries are anchored to the holistic, guiding principles of the global UN Sustainable Development Goals, and are searchable by SDG.

By providing open access, sustainable strategies, learning resources, and time-relevant information, our mindset is to help guide the expedition of often-complex choice-making and the unpacking of design x business decision-related trade-offs acknowledging that one size does not fit all.

We believe education is integral to navigating ESG and climate urgencies toward an innovative and transformative sea change amidst a sea of imperfect options.

The value of creative capital and the aim to navigate today’s challenges with ingenuity and a multi-generational approach are top of mind in our objectives.

Through its purpose-centered learning initiatives, the CFDA is committed to meaningfully supporting varied creative professional journeys to help grow creative captains’ success and future readiness, change champions, and foster their positioning as resilient leaders.

From expanded scholarship opportunities to providing mentorship and virtual engagement integrations for established brands, our goal is to help guide our program communities towards positive, inclusive, innovative futures.

As we continue to define our path of striving to offer unique purpose-centered sustainability initiatives, a key aim will be to help small – mid-size brands implement circularity and sustainable innovation within their business models and brand ecosystems to grow their businesses.

We aim to calibrate these efforts to a full spectrum of transforming areas of focus- such as climate change, decarbonization innovations, ESG, policy, and social and environmental justice.

The value proposition of sustainable innovation for economic transformation is as clear as the environmental and social imperatives.

From a tactical vantage point, sustainable innovation, i.e. design strategies for new processes, systems, and materials, as well as social innovation, create potential bright spots and an opportunity to turn our most significant pressing challenges into possibilities – where creative ingenuity matched with innovation – that are vital in breaking down barriers and overcoming necessary hurdles to advance change.

At the center of this ecosystem, learning, education, information, and knowledge are potent tools for sustaining the journey to positive transformation.
