Ever wondered what it’s like to raise a glass to the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards? Look no further than Prabal Gurung, who has teamed up this year Perrier-Jouët. In honor of fashion’s biggest night, Gurung has reimagined the Perrier-Jouët champagne flutes to go along with their Perrier-Jouët’s Belle Epoque Rosé bottle, which will be served to guests during the dinner and ceremony. Drawing upon his mantra ‘stronger in color,’ Gurung amped up the champagne brand’s signature anemone flower motif with a unique design.

In anticipation of tonight’s ceremony, we caught up with Gurung to hear more about his inspiration behind the design.

Describe the design for your Perrier-Jouët flute? What was your inspiration for it?

For our glassware collaboration with Perrier-Jouët, I was inspired by the beauty and elegance of the brand’s signature anemone flower. We wanted to bring our brand ideal that we are stronger in color to the design, so we juxtaposed our bright hued floral with the heritage of the Perrier-Jouët anemone to celebrate who we both are and what we stand for together.

How does this design work within your fashion aesthetic?

Our brand is a celebration of color, texture, and print. Florals are one of my absolute favorite patterns to play with– they are so beautiful and optimistic. We brought our vivid color palette, which has become a brand signature, together with the beauty and elegance different flowers. They just evoke so much joy for me while also representing the strength and power of femininity.

When is your favorite time to drink Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque?

I’m looking forward to drinking it at the CFDA Awards!

What are you looking forward to celebrating and toasting this summer?

We’re celebrating our 10th anniversary this September at our show during New York Fashion Week. This collection and moment has been a long time coming…building our brand, who we are, and what we stand for is something we’ve been growing the past 10 years, and I’m so excited to not only reach this milestone, but also do so with the support of our incredible friends and partners who have gotten us to where we are. I feel so much gratitude and love as I reflect on the last decade and look ahead to our future.
