“Remade in the USA” is the theme of Eileen Fisher’s first pop-up shop in New York, which opens this Saturday and is the culmination of the yearlong residency program with the three Eileen Fisher Social Innovator Award winners Carmen Gama, Teslin Doud and Lucy Jones.
The Brooklyn shop sells the limited-edition 500-piece collection created by the Social Innovator trio,
The Eileen Fisher Social Innovator Award, created in partnership with the CFDA, gave the three fashion design students the opportunity to work with the brand’s designers, merchandisers and social consciousness teams. Doud, Gama and Jones learned processes to create new designs from damaged clothes in the Green Eileen recycling program.
The collection on hand is the first scalable zero-waste lineup using felting techniques and natural dying.
On Thursday evening, Eileen Fisher herself joined the three innovators at a panel conversation in a space adjacent to the store. Jones, Gama, and Doud talked about their yearlong at Eileen Fisher, and the processes that led them to the limited edition collection available at the store.
The “Remade in the USA” pop-up store is open July 23-24 and 30-31 from 12pm-7pm at Glass House, 47 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11201.
