Jamaican-American designer Edvin Thompson of Theophilio has made a name for himself with his uber-cool, Brooklyn-based contemporary clothing label that highlights diversity and inclusion and embracing the stories of people who look like himself.
As his bio puts it, there’s a focus on the celebrations of life after overcoming the obstacles and triumphs along the way at the root of his designs, describing Theophilio as “a wearable biography.”
Today, we’re excited to announce that he is a new CFDA member.
Thompson brought home a Trova trophy last November as the recipient of the American Emerging Designer of the Year award at the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards. As the winner, he was extended an invitation for membership from the Board of Directors and was officially elected by the CFDA membership earlier this month.
