American fashion’s history is filled with garments that have come to define their eras, and the designers behind them. This New York Fashion Week, eBay and the CFDA will bring many of those pieces together for Endless Runway: The Archive.
Curated by editor and stylist Carlos Nazario, the exhibition showcases more than 150 rare and archival pieces by American designers, sourced from eBay alongside special contributions from leading designers and fashion houses.
The experience explores defining chapters in American fashion, from the glamour and liberation of the 1970s and the rise of American sportswear to ’90s minimalism and grunge and the designers shaping New York fashion today.
“New York Fashion Week is built on generations of designers who have shaped American fashion, and eBay’s Endless Runway: The Archive celebrates that legacy,” CFDA President and CEO Steven Kolb said. “Through its marketplace and this retrospective, eBay connects more than three decades of rare, vintage and archival fashion with the collectors shaping its future.”
At the center of the experience is an eBay Live auction hosted by Jenna Lyons, featuring pieces contributed directly from the archives of Calvin Klein Collection, DVF, Michael Kors Collection, Proenza Schouler, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, Willy Chavarria, and more.
Highlights include a Calvin Klein Collection Spring/Summer 1996 dress, Michael Kors Collection Resort 1990 crystal-embroidered slip dress, Vera Wang Spring/Summer 2024 ballgown, and Willy Chavarria Spring/Summer 2025 gown.

Endless Runway: The Archive will stream live on eBay Live on Wednesday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET, with proceeds from the eBay Live auction benefitting the CFDA.
