With more than four decades in fashion, Donna Karan has had her share of shows, launches and openings, but these next few days will prove particularly busy—in the best possible way.

Karan’s memoir “My Journey” is going on sale today, offering readers an inside look into the designer’s story from her childhood through Anne Klein, the Donna Karan business, and the humanitarian work she delved into through her Urban Zen Foundation.

“I am very excited that it’s out there now, that it’s happening,” Karan told CFDA.com.

The celebrations kicked off on Monday night when Anna Wintour and LVMH’s Pierre-Yves Roussel hosted a fête for her at Tutto Il Giorni, daughter Gaby Karan’s Tribeca eatery. Calvin Klein, Iman, Tory Burch, Lisa Perry, Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow, Derek Lam and Gilles Mendel were among those who came out to celebrate Karan.

That’s not all, though—far from it. Karan also sat down with Robin Roberts for a segment on ABC’s “Good Morning America” this morning. This Wednesday, the designer will celebrate the book with a celebration at Urban Zen, and later that evening, she takes a star turn as Andy Cohen’s guest on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” (alongside Taylor Kinney—tune in to see what juicy tidbits and Mazels @bravoandy gets out of Donna).

The celebrations continue into next week. On Monday, Karan will be feted by 400 women at the Central Park Conservatory luncheon, and, on Oct.20, she will discuss her memoir at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

“I hope that people enjoy the journey as I did writing about it,” Karan said of the book published by Random House and featuring a foreword by her bestie Barbra Streisand.  “I hope the book serves as an inspiration to everyone.”
