New York City officials have been warning about the need for more surgical masks, which are in high-demand but low supply as the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to spread at an alarming rate. In a press conference on Friday morning, Governor Andrew Cuomo asked business to step in and offered funding for companies with the right equipment to produce masks, gowns, gloves, and more.

CFDA Member Christian Siriano has heard his plea for help, and offered to step up to the plate.

“If @NYGovCuomo says we need masks, my team will help make some. I have a full sewing team still on staff working from home that can help,” Siriano tweeted on Friday.

“If we need masks my team can make them! I have sewers and pattern makers ready to help working from home we just need all the information on how to help,” he added via Instagram.

Thank you, Christian.
