With the venue choice of The Plaza just as FX launched the Black and White Ball episode of “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans,” one almost expected Christian Siriano to go all-out on New York society dressing. He did, rendered through his signature lens. “For the Fall/Winter 2024 season, I was inspired by the modern, futuristic world set forth in the 1965 novel and subsequent films, ‘Dune,’” he said in the show notes. “The collection embodies the idea of what eveningwear and glamour would look like in a sci-fi, apocalyptic desert.” While there were some black and white combinations, the lineup also included rich luxurious creams, liquid metallics, burnt orange lamés and deep reds – on models, including a few men, who shimmied and sachay-ed their way down the runway with that heightened sense of dramatic glamour Siriano has made his own.
