The third edition of China Day, themed “YOUTH-MADE CHINA,” kicked off with an intimate celebration and display of select looks by China Day designers at Nordstrom Men’s, which recently opened in Manhattan.
Mannequins showcased select looks from labels Peacebird Men, New Project Center (NPC), ChenPeng, JBNY, and Angel Chen. The display will be on view at the store through February 17.
This China Day edition spotlights the country’s next generation, which embraces tradition yet interprets creative visions through an avant-garde lens.
“In order for the CFDA to achieve its mission of promoting American talent on the global level, we need to build strong relationships with like-minded partners internationally, especially in China,” said Adam Roth, CFDA’s Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. “Partnering with Suntchi gives the CFDA the opportunity to introduce our members to the Chinese consumer, as well as to connect emerging Chinese brands to our retail partners in the U.S. such as Nordstrom, creating a sense of discovery for the American consumer.”
Suntchi Founder Paul Fang added, “Season Three of China Day coincides with the Chinese Lunar New Year. Through the “Nordstrom Celebrates China Day” event, we showcased the unique perspectives of six Chinese designers and brands to North America. We truly represented the mission of China Day that we aim to boost worldwide recognition of Chinese designs, where we ultimately promote opportunities for Chinese brands globally.”
Peacebird Men and NPC will show as part of China Day on February 13th at Pier59 Studios.
NPC is a premium retail outlet with its own collection. The menswear street brand was founded by Nic Li and Wilber Pan in 2009. NPC introduces China’s next generation to street culture through its work.
