Charlotte Lawrence Gets Ready In Rodarte for the 2024 Grammys

February 5, 2024

It was always music for Charlotte Lawrence. Her parents both worked in film, but she had her sights set on becoming a musician. She began singing as a child, and before she was even a teenager, she was writing songs and putting on performances for her parents’ friends at their house in Los Angeles.

The singer-songwriter went on to release her first EP, Young, in 2018 (while she was still in high school), followed by a second EP, Charlotte, to glowing reviews. She has since established a solid fan base of her own thanks to her intimate storytelling and raw sound.

Someone who dreamt of attending the Grammy Awards growing up, she now finds herself on the red carpet. For the biggest night in music, Lawrence knew she would have to deliver a fashion moment appropriate for the occasion. The rising style star turned to Rodarte, one of her favorite brands she would go with “anywhere, any time.”

In collaboration with her stylist Siena Montesano, the duo worked on creating a custom look with CFDA member designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy.

“I completely trusted [them], as anything they make is wonderful,” Lawrence said of the duo. “We had a big fitting where they so graciously let me try on a billion dresses. We agreed on fit and style, played with fabrics and colors, and then they took it and ran with it. Seeing the dress for the first time blew my socks off, it was so beautiful!”

The final product was a stunning sheer off the shoulder gown designed using layers of tulle and lace to achieve the silhouette and design.

“We wanted to create a look that is both romantic and gothic,” stated the designers.

Crafted from layers of fine tulle, lace with a fairy motif, and tulle embroidered with purple beads in a branch motif, the intricate look was one of the highlights from the red carpet.

The look was accentuated with a slick back updo by hairstylist Ryan Richman, and a smoky black eye and neutral lip combo created by makeup artist Alexandra French.

Lawrence is on an upwards trajectory – and she’s just getting started. After releasing hit singles “Bodybag” and “Boys Like You,” she’s getting ready to release new music this year and opening for Madison Beer on her national U.S. tour later this year.

She’ll also dip into acting, co-starring the upcoming AppleTV+ series “Bad Monkey” alongside Vince Vaughn, Jodie Turner-Smith and Michelle Monaghan.

“I’m just excited to work, work, work!” she exclaimed.
