The CFDA has partnered with The Weinstein Company for a live television broadcast of the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards.
The broadcast will feature the Awards Ceremony preceded by Red Carpet Arrivals. The Weinstein Company will produce and distribute the rights to air the show to a national outlet to be announced later,
“CFDA spotlights the best-of-the-best of the fashion industry,” said Harvey Weinstein, TWC Co-Chairman. “We’re thrilled to join Diane von Furstenberg, Steven Kolb and the entire CFDA team in bringing the work of the world’s top, most cutting-edge designers off the runways and to TV audiences.”
Weinstein and Patrick Reardon of The Weinstein Company and Steven Kolb of the CFDA serve at Executive Producers. Sergio Alfaro of Eclipse Television will serve as producer of the broadcast with KCD producing the event and Laird + Partners producing the annual journal as well as art directing the nominee packages.
The CFDA Board of Directors chaired by Diane von Furstenberg made the decision to televise the awards. By partnering with The Weinstein Company, we can make this a reality while also furthering the CFDA mission to strengthen the impact of American Fashion worldwide.”
